This gave her the ability to develop and grow more and gain experience through her musical endeavors. She also had the opportunity to be trained by some of the greatest gospel artists in their day; such as Dr. Vernard Johnson and the Church of God in Christ Orchestra, Dorinda Clark-Cole & Karen Clark-Sheard with the Church of God in Christ Choir, and many many more. She also trained and traveled with the Oklahoma Civil Rights Activist, Mrs. Clara Luper, as Miss Black Oklahoma and the NAACP Act-So competition.

As time progressed, Ann developed an outstanding reputation of playing her saxophone. She started with being one of the opening acts for Shirley Caesar in Oklahoma City. Then it moved to playing on national TV. It then allowed her the opportunity to play with Kim Stratton and Jo Ann Rasario. She also had the honor and privilege to play with singer and songwriter Jonathan Dunn.

Ann’s sound is smooth and uniquely created; it is very versatile; she has been featured on rap CD’s such as “The Rise” created by the Preachaholicz, as well as smooth relaxing meditation music such as “Breathe on Me” Created by the Judea Praise musicians. She also played on “The Cut” created by Rob Clay and many more, to name a few. Finally, as Ann Booze has come through many avenues of life to create her sound; she and her husband Norman Booze have released her single “He is Faithful”.

Elijah Golson

Musician/ Music Educator

From a young age, Elijah Golson’s (aka Eli), Musical journey began. Growing up in the Pentecostal church with a choir-directing Grandmother, music was instilled in him from a very young age. At the age of 6, Elijah became his church’s drummer, traveling with the church and the church choir in and out-of-town for different engagements, but soon his grandma would figure out, his only sole purpose wasn’t just for the drums, and at age 8, she enrolled Elijah in Piano Lessons with Dr. A.L. Ellis, where he studied not only piano but the Hammond organ as well.

At the age of 11, Elijah was appointed the Youth Choir Director, where he taught and conducted the choir and led them during multiple performances. With the help of his grandmother, who taught him how to conduct choirs, his success was beginning to be seen not only in the church walls but across the OKC Metro area, traveling with the youth choir and having the opportunities to perform in other churches.

At the age of 13, after playing piano and organ regularly on Sunday mornings, and being the youth choir director, Elijah was appointed as Minister of Music, which made Elijah the overseer of the music department across the entire church brotherhood and its multiple locations. In this leadership role, Elijah directed and rehearsed both the Youth, and Senior Choirs, prepared the annual spring concert, and convention mass choirs, and prepared the church band. Elijah held this position faithfully until his departure of that church in January of 2018.

In March of 2020, Elijah took the charge as Minister of Music of the Greater Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK. Where he serves today.

Not all of Elijah’s Music success has taken place in the church. Elijah served as a Drum major of the Midwest City High School Bomber Band his Junior and Senior Years of High School, becoming the Head Drum Major during his Senior Year. Winning awards from the band, school, and acknowledgments across the community.

Elijah is excited to be a part of CMA, to teach the next generation of musicians the art of music and how music can change not only their lives, other’s around them as well.
